When left unresolved, back pain can lead to many serious problems down the line such as surgery, depression, anxiety and difficulty sleeping. In many cases, doctors and physicians prescribe pain relievers such as opioids and anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen to manage the pain. But these are all temporary measures with long lasting side effects and a lot more people are turning towards natural and alternative treatments to heal and nourish their bodies such as CBD.
How Can CBD Help?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid from the cannabis plant which, unlike its sister compound THC, does not get you high. Growing in popularity thanks to its myriad of uses for health, wellbeing and fitness, it is being used by millions of people around the world to heal a number of things ranging from arthritis to poor sleep.
For back pain in particular, research indicates that CBD can:
-Combat anxiety which is often associated with long lasting back pain
-Help with sleep and the overall state of our bodies relaxation
Although research is still in its early stages, one of the other most crucial ways CBD has been proven to impact the body is the way it regulates homeostasis and the ECS.
In our previous article, CBD Oil and The Endocannabinoid System: How to heal and nourish your body naturally, we explored the importance of maintaining a healthy endocannabinoid system (ECS) and how it is directly linked to the health and survival of human beings. If animals, plants and humans are not able to self regulate and resist change, it can cause a lot of problems for our bodies to support a healthy ECS. Critical functions like sleep, appetite, stress and pain are majorly regulated by ECS so if we can’t self regulate these functions, we are in trouble.
CBD works positively with our bodies by stimulating the activity of the ECS. Experts believe CBD prevents endocannabinoids from being broken down which then creates a more active ECS, which in turn is more stimulated in self regulating a critical function like sleep which plays a huge role in managing back pain.
What Ways Can I Integrate CBD To Help Me With My Pain?
CBD can be taken in a variety of forms which can easily fit into your daily routine. Some of our favourite ways to take CBD for back pain are through powerful oils under the tongue, capsules, cooling muscles gels, and healing bath salts.
Finding the optimal amount of CBD to take will require some trial and error as the scale is different for every body.
The amount of CBD you should take depends on a range of factors, including:
-Your body weight
-The condition you’re treating
-Your individual body chemistry
-The concentration of CBD in each pill, capsule, drop, or gummy
The best way to find the right dose for your body is to start with a very low dose (2 mg, for example) and increase it by 2-5 mg per serving until you find the right amount that works for you.

A User Experience From Integrating CBD To Manage Back Pain
But don’t just take our word for it. We recently caught up with a regular Mount Verdi user, Harwinder Singh, a busy individual who runs his own company in the P2P lending space who cites Dragonfly’s 2000mg narrow spectrum CBD oil as being instrumental in transforming his back pain.
Harwinder’s pain started 15 years ago when areas C5 and C6 on his spinal cord collapsed. A C5 damage to the spinal cord vertebrae affects vocal chords, biceps and deltoid muscles in the upper arm. A C6 damage to the spinal cord vertebrae affects the lower end of the cord near the base of the neck which can result in loss of sensation of everything below the ribcage.
A serious injury which he was told from the onset of the diagnosis that despite surgery, he will have to learn how to manage pain for the rest of his life. 10 years after surgery, the pain became unmanageable and after a temporary pain relieving injection, he was prescribed heavy painkillers. Whilst the pain went away, he was not ready for the side effects that came with it such as intense hallucinations.
During this time most hospitals were out of bounds due to the ongoing Covid-19 Crisis and painkillers seemed like his only option until a friend introduced him to CBD. After regularly integrating it into his daily routine, the pain quickly started disappearing and he was able to replace his painkillers entirely with CBD. Being able to eliminate this pain without hallucinations was an incredibly magical and powerful transformation in his life that not only had positive healing effects for his spine, but also for his mental clarity.
