      • Read the label carefully. Look out for the type of CBD contained in the product, the concentration present, and other additional flavours and ingredients that might affect your cooking. Also, check for indications that the product is organic, e.g., a seal from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) that reads “Certified Organic.”
      • Remember that one study showed that up to 60% of CBD products sold online are mislabelled. So make sure that you only buy from trusted brands or trusted vendors like Mount Verdi.

      Use the Right Type of CBD

      There is a wide variety of CBD products available in the market today; choosing a suitable one can be confusing. Here are a few things to consider:

      Full/Broad Spectrum CBD vs. CBD Isolate

      Full and broad-spectrum CBD may contain aromatic terpenes that give it a unique, earthy scent and flavor. Many people don’t mind this flavor, but you cannot be sure of whether or not some people would find it distasteful when cooking for a large group. 

      Unless you are an expert chef who knows how to manipulate flavors masterfully, it is safer to stick to products that contain CBD isolate. Such products contain no terpenes and are thereby odorless and tasteless. The only downside to using CBD isolates is that they don’t exhibit the entourage effect, although they convey loads of health benefits.

      As CBD products tend to be pricey, using too much is an expensive practice. A little bit can go a long way. This is especially true when you purchase a product with a high concentration of CBD in it. 

      If you choose to use full or broad-spectrum products, be extra careful because they tend to have a bitter taste, and they can easily overpower the dishes to which they are added.
